Over here at the Main Event, we’re really stoked that the first Main Event of 2012, the Hip Hop Rail Jam at Sugarbush, VT, is only a week away. It’s going to be an epic event, with two hips, a rail feature, tons of prizes, and a performance by Afroman. All of those things are exciting, but what are we most stoked about? The Main Event’s new contest format. We’ve been around for a long time, and we recognize how important it is to keep progressing Main Event in order to give East Coast riders the contest experience they want. For 2012, we’re introducing a new contest format.
Snowboarders will compete in jam format on the hip to hip to rail set up, and because the people riding the course are the best judges of what’s going down, for the first time ever, competitors will weigh in on who walks away with spots in the US Open, trips with Sass Global Travel, a year supply of vitaminwater, and the Main Event heavyweight belt (and tons of other prizes from sponsors). Details about how this will work will be explained during the riders’ meeting at the event. Get stoked!
